How Maren works

Plan, study, and review in one place.

Every part of MCAT prep, joined together by what you actually missed.

A study week that fits your life.

Maren reads your test date, your hours, and your resources, then builds the week. When life moves, the plan moves with you.

A weekly study plan with daily tasks and recommended resources.
Study

Practice that targets what you keep missing.

Log questions in seconds. Maren tags the error, tracks the topic, and generates targeted quizzes on the weak spots you keep hitting.

A generated practice quiz on a student's weakest topic.
Review

Mistakes you actually understand.

Paste any question you missed. Maren reads your history, walks through the reasoning, and explains the concept the way you think.

A review of full-length scores with section-by-section trends.

For your situation

Wherever you are with the MCAT, Maren meets you there.

First-Time Test Takers

You have a test date and a vague sense of dread. Maren turns that into a week one of work: which resource to open tonight, how long to spend, what to log when you are done.

Start week one
Built for retakers

Retakers

You already know the content. You already studied. Something else cost you points. Retake Mode imports your first-attempt sub-scores and builds a different mix from there.

Open Retake Mode

Non-Trads and Time-Strapped

Ninety minutes tonight, two on Saturday, a full-time job. Maren plans against the hours you actually have, not the 12-week template no working adult can hold to.

Fit it into my week

Plateaued in the Mid-Range

Your score stalled and you have ruled out laziness. You are studying the same things the same way. Maren names the three to five things that keep costing points, and works them.

Break the plateau

Built by a premed, in public

A real student, building the tool he wanted.

My name is Isaiah. I took the MCAT after months of doing what most students do: bouncing between question banks, full-lengths, and spreadsheets that tried to track every miss. None of it told me what to work on tonight.

I built Maren to be the tool I wanted. One place where every missed question is logged, tagged, and connected to the next thing I should study. The product is still in beta, and I am building it in the open. One premed, real students, and a tool that gets better the more you use it.

What Maren is not good at yet

No outcomes data yet.
Maren is in open beta. We have not run a long enough cohort to publish score outcomes, and we will not claim any until the data is real.
AI can be wrong.
Maren is scoped to MCAT prep and trained on the conventions of the exam, not on official test content. When it gets something wrong, you can flag it inline and we review every report.

FAQ

Questions before you start

The objections we hear most often. Full pricing and plan questions live on the pricing page.

Is using Maren during MCAT prep considered cheating?
No. Maren is a study tool. It coaches you on practice questions you have already missed; it does not take your exam for you. The MCAT itself is closed-book, in-person, and proctored, so there is no way Maren could be used during the test. Outside the test room, you are allowed to study with any resource you want, including AI.
Does Maren use official MCAT content?
No. We never license, scrape, or store questions from official practice products or third-party question banks. You paste your own missed questions in your own words; Maren reads them and coaches you through the underlying concepts. We treat exam-maker intellectual property the way every premed should: hands-off.
Do you train AI models on my data?
No. Your logged questions, study sessions, chats, and notes are never used to train models. Our AI provider does not train on API inputs by default, and we do not opt in. Your data stays your data.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your account stays active on the Free tier. Your question history, plan, and analytics are preserved, and you can export everything from Settings any time. If you fully delete your account, your data is removed from our database. The full retention schedule is in the Privacy Policy.
How is Maren different from a general AI chat tool?
A general chat tool starts every conversation from zero. Maren reads your test date, your full question history, your error tags, your weak topics, and your study calendar before answering. Every response is personalized to what you have already missed and what is coming up on your plan.
What if Maren gives me wrong information?
Email support@joinmaren.com with the question and Maren's answer. We review every report, and the correction lands on your record so Maren learns it the next time you log a similar question. Sanity-check high-stakes answers against official sources. Maren is a coach, not a guarantee.
Can AI really replace a $200-an-hour MCAT tutor?
For most students, the question is not replace, it is reach. A real tutor at $200 an hour for 8 hours a month runs $1,600. Max is $59. Maren will not match a great human on judgment calls about your specific weak spots, but it can read every question you log, every miss you make, and every full-length you take, and surface patterns no tutor working 8 hours a month would catch. The smart move is Maren full-time plus a real tutor for the last few weeks if your budget allows.
